How do I give permission for someone else to trade my account for me?

To allow someone else to trade your account, you will need to submit the Limited Power of Attorney (LPOA) form. Get the form here
- The trader receives a separate login and password that only allows them to trade.
- It is important to know that the LPOA form only grants access to trade the account.
- They may not, under any circumstance, act on your behalf.
- They may not deposit, withdraw, or transfer funds from the account holder nor may they be the primary point of contact for all other account requests.

What phone number should I use for my Trading Account?

When setting up an account, you may use any phone number that is regularly accessible for you.

I lease my home and all bills are in the landlord’s name. Is this okay?

Yes.
We will need a document that shows:
- Your name and the address you have on your trading agreement.
- Please submit a signed copy of the lease agreement that shows the terms of the lease.

What information should I include when emailing or faxing documents?

Please ensure your name and email address are clearly visible when sending documents to FXCM. If you have received a temporary ID or account number, you may indicate that as well.

I have declared bankruptcy in the past. What do you need for proof of bankruptcy discharge?

FXCM will need a court-issued letter indicating you were discharged from bankruptcy.
- This can be uploaded on MyFXCM for faster processing.

How do I know if you have received my documents?

It takes 1-3 business days to review all submitted documents.
- If you upload your documents on MyFXCM, you will receive an email confirming that the documents have been received.
- Otherwise, you will only receive an email after we complete the review.

What is acceptable as a copy of my Social Security Number?

You must submit a copy of your Social Security Card.
- If you do not have a social security card, you will need to request a new card from the Social Security Administration office.
- You may submit the confirmation letter that you received to complete the application.
ID & Proof of Residence

What can I use for the government issued photo ID?

Government issued photo IDs can be any of the following:
- Passport
- Driver's License
- Non-driver's ID
Other types of government issued photo ID may be acceptable, after review, on a case-by-case basis.

- Recent Utility Bill (i.e. landline, internet, gas, electric) Please note that a mobile phone bill will not be accepted as a valid Proof of Residence.

- Signed Lease Agreement still within term
- Signed OR stamped Bank, Investment Letters
- Home Insurance statement with up-to-date premium period
- Tax Bill for a house or property
- Residential Registration Card issued by the government
- Notarized letters – issued within the last 6 months, signed and stamped by a legitimate local notary

These documents must be received in their entirety as we cannot accept payment stubs or folded documents. Confidential information such as account number(s) may be removed at your discretion. Please note that a mobile phone bill is not an acceptable form of proof of residence.

What information needs to be on the Proof of Residence?

Proof of residence is used to verify the residential address as indicated on the trading agreement. Please provide your residential address.
The Proof of Residence must show:
- Your name and address as indicated on your account application
- Be from a credible source (with a visible logo)
- and be dated within the last 6 months.
Please note:
- A mobile phone bill will not be accepted as a valid Proof of Residence.
- FXCM cannot accept any proof of residence that only provides a P.O. Box. A common solution is to submit a document such as a utility bill that shows the service address along with the mailing address.
- If all of your residential bills are in the landlord's name, possible solutions include a bank statement or a signed copy of the lease agreement indicating the term of the lease.

My driver’s license has my address on it. Can I use this document for both ID and Proof of Residence?

No.
- We need two separate documents for the identification process.
- A driver's license may be used as either ID or proof of residence, but not both.

Can I take a screen shot for my Proof of Residence?

No.
- To submit your Proof of Residence, it is best to scan or take a picture of the document.

What information needs to be visible on my passport or National ID card?

Your identification must clearly indicate your full name, date of birth, and expiration date. The name on the passport or national ID card must match the name on the FXCM trading agreement.

My application is for a corporate account. Whose name and address should be on the Proof of Residence?

The proof of residence submitted for a corporate account should indicate the name and personal residential address of the individual applicant or signatory rather than the name of the corporation. Additionally, FXCM Ltd must collect ID and proof of residence for all parties owning 25% or more of the applying entity.

What information needs to be on the Government Issued Identification?

The Government Issued Photo Identification must show:
- Your name as indicated on your account application
- Your date of birth
- And the Identification must not be expired
These steps are taken by FXCM to ensure the validity of the information on the application and to protect customers from potential fraud. FXCM utilizes various identification and verification systems to confirm the identities of our clients. Sometimes, if an identity cannot be confirmed, we ask for additional information to help us do so.

Why do I need a unique email address?

Most of the communication from FXCM will be sent to you via email.
- In order to protect the security of your account information, it is important that you have your own personal email address.
To update your email address:
- Please log onto MyFXCM with your username and password.
- Select “Personal Information” and enter a new email address.

How can I provide a unique email address?

You can edit your email address within MyFXCM or you can send an email to [email protected] from the email address listed on your application indicating the new email address you wish to use.

Why do I need to send in documents?

You may be asked to submit documents to help us verify the information on your application.
- We use a variety of systems to confirm the identities of our clients.
- For items we cannot confirm, we will ask for documents to help us do so.

Can I list a P.O. Box on my application/proof of residence?

Source of Funds and Source of Wealth Documents

What supporting documents may I send for Source of Wealth?

Acceptable documentation to support the source of wealth may be supported by one or multiple documents to verify and validate your explanation of the Source of Wealth.
For example, if you have declared your net worth as 50,000- 99,999 (valued in USD, or AUD, or GBP), please supply more details about the main origin of this amount.
This includes:
- Bank statements (past 3 months) supporting your Source of Wealth
- Investment portfolio statement (most recent)
- Legal/Court Inheritance documents
- Proof of Property Sale (i.e. real estate transaction)
The supporting document:
- Must be issued in the past 6 months
- Should contain your full name and issue date. The issuing company’s or authority’s name and logo should be visible
- Should be submitted in a *.jpg, *.jpeg, *.bmp, *.gif, *.png or *.pdf file format. Supporting documents provided in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word or other editable formats are not acceptable
The content of the document must be clearly visible.

You may provide any document that properly validates your explanation of the Source of Funds.
For example, if your fund source is mainly via your salary, please provide your bank statement that shows the salary record for the past 3 months.
Another example such as if the fund source is mainly from your other investments, please provide a 3 months investment portfolio statement.
Other examples such as:
- Bank statements (past 3 months) showing your Source of Funds
- Employer pay statement
- Tax statement
- Proof of Property Sale (i.e. real estate transaction)
Where funds in your supporting documents (e.g. bank statements) originate from a third party, we may ask further clarification and explanation.
The supporting document:
- Must be issued in the past 6 months
- Should contain your full name and issue date. The issuing company’s or authority’s name and logo should be visible

What is Source of Funds?

Source of Funds is the origination of the funds that you will use for trading with FXCM. Where did the funds come from or how was it derived?
Common examples including but not limited to income earned from employment, savings income, investment income, real estate transactions, rental income and/or inheritance.

In order to activate your new FXCM trading account, your financial information is requested. This includes your Total Liquid Assets, Annual Income, and Net Worth.
